Book Ad of the Week: DEALING: OR THE BERKELEY-TO-BOSTON FORTY BRICK LOST-BAG BLUES (1971)

February 14, 1971

March 1, 1971

Dealing: or the Berkeley-to-Boston
Forty Brick Lost-Bag Blues
by “Michael Douglas”
[Michael Crichton & Douglas Crichton]
Alfred A. Knopf, 1971

Paul Williams' film DEALING: OR THE BERKELEY-TO-BOSTON FORTY-BRICK LOST-BAG BLUES (1972) stars Robert F. Lyons, Barbara Hershey, John Lithgow, Ellen Barber, Demond Wilson, Joy Bang, Charles Durning, Paul Sorvino and Vic Argo. With songs by the Rolling Stones, the Grateful Dead, Otis Redding and Buffalo Springfield on the soundtrack, it's a safe bet that music licensing was the reason the movie never received a proper VHS and DVD release for many years. It's now available as a Warner Archive on-demand DVD-R.
